'Round Midnight

So I got pretty bored around midnight last night and started playing around with clothes. This is actually a skirt from Express, I used to wear it a lot in 7th grade back in my goth/emo phase. (Thankfully it didn't last long). I hardly ever wear the skirt anymore, so I've decided it shall now be a dress. I have to put some elastic in the top and take it in a little, but I think it's pretty cute. The belt is from my Dad, and the pink socks....well...my feet were cold. :) Oh, and those straps...are my bra straps....

Little Bit More About Me

So here's my inspiration board/place where I pin stuff so I won't forget it. Anytime I see pictures from a magazine ad that I really love, I cut it out and hang it up. I try not to cut up the actual magazine though, I like to go back and re-read stuff every now and then. I used to have copies of TeenVogue from three years ago....but Mum told me bluntly that the huge pile of magazines just had to go.

Closet

closet

I sort of have two closets. One actual closet, and one mini-closet thing from Ikea. Yes, I have that many clothes, old stuffed animals, posters, and other random things. We don't have an attic, so anything we're not using gets stuffed into the closet. I know it's a little unusual for people to organize their clothes by color, but that's just how I am. It makes it so much easier to find clothes!

Little Bit About Me

I have the most boring name on the planet.

Ashley.

But at least it's pretty

I used to try and make clothes for my Barbie's as a kid. Barbie ended up naked most of the time. Then in 7th grade I wanted new clothes, but I had no money. So I started sewing. I took apart old clothes and made skirts and armsocks and things like that. Mostly done by hand because our sewing machine sucked. Sewing gives me this great feeling like nothing else. Well...almost nothing else. ;) I get a high from sewing. I decided to become a fashion designer in 7th grade, against the advice of my parents, who have now realized once again I'm too stubborn to be persuaded otherwise.

I'm in a clothing class at my high school and of course I sew at home. I love reading fashion magazines and my favorite show is Project Runway. To me, it's clothes aren't just things we wear, they can change how we feel about ourselves and how others perceive us. What we wear says a lot about who we are.

I'd love to work for an amazing designer one day, and then eventually have my own ready-to-wear line. I plan on donating some of the profits to charity, and I'd like to use organic cotton for some of the clothes.

That's all for now. I'm new at this....and lazy....but hopefully I'll be putting up pictures and things soon.
